What is an iPod? Getting to Know About the iPod
Not everyone knows, what is an iPod? It is basically the
portable digital music and video player made and trade-marked by Apple, the manufacturer of the Macintosh computers.
Note: Although it is made by Apple, the iPod is not a Mac.
The iPod is a remarkable gadget that can best be defined in today's music era as the most popular personal jukebox. It is a mobile self-contained portable digital-entertainment system that can hold and play your entire lifetime's music collection.
How Does the iPod Work
Your iPod is merely another player, but a darn good one. In order to play music or watch videos you would need to download your content from your computer where has been stored and organized. (Note, you cannot organize your content on your iPod).
Once organised on your computer you can now download your content, in a more compressed format, to your ipod. You can download entire music albums, favourite videos, TV shows, podcasts, and audio books. Since, your content is stored in digital format, on your iPod, it will never deteriorate in quality.
What is an iPod's music and video source?
Downloads of music and videos for the iPod comes via iTunes software which superbly integrates with your iPod. The iPod is the hardware and iTunes is the music software, which is free software downloaded from Apple.
You would copy your music into iTunes, and organize it as a library, then synchronize it on to your iPod for play back. iTunes is a Media Content Library Management System that lets you add files and information to a master database so that you can locate a specific song that you would like to listen to.
