Home Theater Projection
Creating Your Own Movie Theater

Home theater projection is taking the home entertainment industry by storm. Everyone is looking for HD quality and flat screen television sets. Home projectors fit the description perfectly.

With home projection, it's just like having the movie theater inside your home. And depending on the model, these projectors are portable, allowing you to take your cinema experience anywhere you go.

Typically it is thought that home projectors are expensive. They can be, with some models costing $7,500 and up. But there are several models available for at affordable price range; about the price of a high definition TV.

Some people are using home projectors as their sole TV. Projectors come with inputs so that users can hook up their XBOX, Wii, Sony PlayStation and Nintendo. There is also room to hook up a satellite or cable connection, as well as a laptop or PC.

Along with being portable, these projectors are simple to install. There are two types of home projectors: table top and wall mounted.

The wall or ceiling mounted is ideal for a person who is looking for a hidden set-up, especially if there are pets or children. The tabletop projector is more light weight than the wall-mounted model and is portable.

Unlike a television that may require 3 sets of hands to carry and lift, the home projector is light and non-bulky. The fact that it is so light is why projectors are able to be mounted to the ceiling. Another plus to the lightness of a projector, is that it is less likely to be dropped and broken due to its weight.

The picture quality of home theater projectors is phenomenal. The images are crisp and clear. There are two types of projectors on available: DLP and LCD.

One thing to note is, for the picture to come through, projectors use a lamp. To get a good picture, lights need to be dimmed. If you looking to add a projector in a sunny room filled with windows, look into purchasing black-out shades to enjoy the full benefit.

Screen size is up to the individual and for those who love big screens - a projector is a dream come true. Just realize that the larger the room or screen size, the higher resolution the projector should be. If not, the picture can come in blurry or choppy.

When making a selection for home theater projection, be sure to do your homework on particular components. Take in consideration the type and size of the screen. Other important factors include: contrast ratio, resolution, and light output.

Finally decide if you want a LCD or DLP projector. All of these options depend on the user's viewing, home set-up, budget and quality that they are seeking.

As with anything else, home theater projectors are not created equally. But even with the lower model projectors, the picture quality and the size of the picture is no less impressive.
